The inspiration for the design of this hand-painted artglass platter came during one of my late winter walks into the hills near our home. It was a blue-sky day and the contrast of lichen growing on rocks in a field of snow was beautiful. To create this beautiful platter I started by hand-painting the central design. This medallion was then fired on a background of transparent bronze glass. In another firing it was shaped into the platter.
