Beginning Glass Enamels

Glass enamels are a great way to express your individual creativity in your fused glass art. Enamels can be used to create custom glass sheets, provide visual texture, and achieve difficult-to-cut design elements easily.

Beginning Glass Enamels is a full day class to introduce glass enamels to the fused glass artist. The class time will be spent making test tiles using Color Line enamels, which is my favorite to use in the studio. This class is designed to introduce you to multiple techniques for creating with enamels on glass and to serve as a jumping off point for further creativity.

This is a beginning-level class for glass artists who have no or very limited experience using enamels. Experienced artists are welcome to attend, but you may find the material covered remedial.

About the Studio

The class will be held in my garage studio in North Logan. This space is not air conditioned, so please plan accordingly. North Logan typically sees moderate daytime temperatures in August, but nothing is ever typical!

Additional Supplies

Color Line distributes a nice basic enamels kit of 18 different colors, in 2.2 oz bottles (a little goes a long way). If you would like to purchase a kit for use at home, let me know. The cost is $290, which covers my cost ($280) plus shipping. Kits must be requested with class registration and no later than July 31 to be available for pick-up the day of the class.

Cancellations

Participant Cancellation – Cancellations received 5 days before the start of class will be refunded, less a 10% processing fee. Cancellations received after this time will not be refunded.

Instructor Cancellation – In the event the class is cancelled, a full refund will be issued. I may cancel the class if a minimum number of students are not registered, illness, or high-risk events (floods, fire, pandemics…).

I look forward to seeing you at Beginning Glass Enamels!
