About My Jewelry

I offer jewelry in a variety of price ranges. Many of my offerings include glass that I have created or purchased stones. The items that you see listed as fine silver are created from a kiln-fireable metal clay. Metal clay is created from reclaimed silver from the electronics manufacturing industry. It's mixed with binders to create a workable, moldable clay. When it is fired in the kiln the binders burn out, the metal particles sinter, and the resulting piece is .999 fine silver.

I also create with sterling silver - either in sheet metal form or in metal clay form. The sheet metal is soldered; the metal clay is kiln-fired.

After firing or fabricating, the jewelry is hand-polished and may go through a final polishing in a rotary tumbler. Most items are then sealed with a coating made specifically for jewelry. This helps protect the patina if it was used, helps prevent tarnishing, and also helps with sensitivity to metal.
